ROMA!!!

Sorry for the SUPER long post before, I promise this one will be shorter!! On July 1st, after I recovered my phone from Como, we headed to the airport. We arrived in Rome around midnight I would say. We finally got to our really secluded hostel down this really kind of creepy and small alley. It was an interesting hostel. While there we met these two guys who ended up being from Maryland and Massachusetts! It was relieving to meet some Americans for the first time in a while. We stayed up late talking to these guys and then finally went to bed.

The next morning we got up and got ready for lots of site seeing! We started at the Colosseum!! It was amazing to see such old architecture and such old history! I thought it was crazy how you just get off the metro at "Colosseo" and walking up the stairs STRAIGHT to the Colosseum. It was amazing to see the structure and to learn about the gladiators. We also went and saw the Roman Forum and the Palantine. It was very hot and there was a lot of walking around and a lot of stuff to see. Luckily, in Rome they actually have water fountains! Well, they have water spewing out of random places...but everyone else was drinking it so I did as well! :)

After we saw some of the major attractions around the Colosseum, we headed to the Trevi Fountain which was beautiful!! We also went to the Pantheon, which was amazing. The architecture of the Pantheon was unbelievable. I felt very fortunate to be able to be there and see these remarkable structures.

While we were at the Pantheon we watched some of the Holland vs. Brasil game! Holland won!! There were a TON of people from the Netherlands there so there was a bit of cheering and celebrating! :)

After a while we got hungry and super tired so we googled where the Hard Rock Cafe was so we could watch the Ghana vs. Uruguay game. We were sitting at a bar table and eating our food, watching the game.

It was a perfect day and a perfect night. Then all of a sudden I got an email on my phone. I look at who it's from, and it was from Temple Medical School. I got really nervous and I didn't want to read the email. Juliana made me open it and read it, which took a lot of courage for me to open. As I opened the email I read that I was ACCEPTED!!! I was in shock and completely silent. Juliana took my phone and read the email...she screamed and had the reaction I should've had! haha :) I nearly cried when I read that! I immediately called my mom, dad and sister to tell them the good news. I couldn't believe I got accepted!! That definitely made the day even THAT much better!
