PERU!!

After a long day of driving to New York and then an even longer day of flying, I finally made it to Lima, Peru!! My Uncle Duilio and my mom's friend Mila met us at the airport! It was fun traveling with my family and with my Aunt Mirtha, cousin Joann and her man Sean!

Once we got to Lima we went straight to our hotel in Miraflores. Where my aunt Rossana met us with some family friends! After we settled into the hotel we realized we were starving!! We walked to the mall by the Pacific Ocean and ate some burgers at this local burger place. I was super excited because there was a Havanna store that sold dulce de leche and alfajores too!!

Today we are walking around Miraflores and going to lunch with some friends. Tomorrow we´re off to Nasca to see the lines with my uncle Duilio, my dad, Joann and Sean! I´ll keep updating as the week goes on!!

Shots!!

As a precaution to traveling, I went to my doctor to make sure I'm up to date with all my vaccines and immunizations. I had to get my tetanus booster shot today, it's super sore! Other than that I'm up to date with all my shots! I had to get blood work done too.


On June 10th I have an appointment at the County Health Department. On the list of shots the CDC recommended were:

-typhoid fever
-yellow fever
-rabies
-Japanese encephalitis
-varicella
-anti-malaria drugs

I'm nervous to go to the health department and get all these shots! I'm pretty sure it's going to hurt and my arm is going to be super sore after that!

Novice blogger...

So I decided a while ago that I should start a blog. Then I realized my life wasn't really interesting enough for anyone to care to read about in a blog.

After I pushed aside the thought of blogging I made a lot of life decisions. These decisions have completely changed the course of action for me post college graduation. I have decided to leave for a while and hit the road. Well, more like hit the sky? I am leaving in about a month for Europe. I will be traveling for a while with my friend Juliana, and then who knows what after that!

I have promised a lot of friends and family that I would start a blog so everyone can keep track of exactly where I am in the world and know that I'm well...still alive. :)

My first trip is at the end of May. I am going to Peru with my family and some members of my extended family too! My mom is from Peru and I have never been to visit. We are going to see where my mom and her family lived. I'm most excited to visit Macchu Picchu and Lake Titicaca. Hopefully we'll be able to take a quick trip to see the Nasca lines.

I'll try to update the blog as often as I can while I'm on my adventures abroad! My plans are changing constantly and there is no real definitive route that I'm going to take on my adventures, suggestions are welcome! So, start making your suggestions and your guesses as to where in the world I'll end up!! :)
